Scheduled for completion by fall 2018, the state-funded, four-story structure will have 150,000 square feet and will be set aside specifically for student needs.
The facility will have 17 new classrooms, new science labs, group study rooms, gathering spaces and new food service options.
As part of the new building, U of L also will create a student success center that will offer academic support, advising and career services in one spot. It also will add a teaching academy designed to improve the overall college experience for undergraduate students to better prepare them for life after college in the workforce.
